Med en bevilling fra HERA, Humanities in the European Research Area, tager forskningsprojektet moden seriøst, og stiller de enkle spørgsmål: Hvordan og hvorfor blev bestemte typer af mode og modetilbehør i alle materialer moderne på tværs af Europa på det tidspunkt, mens andet kun blev mode enkelte steder?

Hvor udbredte blev disse modevarer, og hvordan blev de overført på tværs af sproglige, sociale og geografiske grænser? Disse spørgsmål er stadig meget relevante at stille i dag, og vores projekt viser, hvordan studier i kreativitet og innovation som økonomisk og kulturel kraft i fortiden kan hjælpe os til at besvare de samme spørgsmål i dag.
